How our pharmacist can help
Pharmacists can provide advice on a range of illnesses, including coughs, colds, sore throats, ear infections, aches and pains, as well as guidance on medicines, their use, side effects, and any queries. If they can’t help directly, they can refer you to a GP or another health professional. Many pharmacies also offer prescription medicines for certain conditions without needing a GP appointment, a service known as Pharmacy First.
Conditions they can offer prescription medicine for are:
- Impetigo (aged 1 year and over)
- Infected insect bites (aged 1 year and over)
- Earache (aged 1 to 17 years)
- Sore throat (aged 5 years and over)
- Sinusitis (aged 12 years and over)
- Urinary tract infections (UTIs) (women aged 16 to 64 years)
- Shingles (aged 18 years and over)
If you are not within these age ranges, a pharmacist can still offer advice and support decisions about self care treatment with over the counter medicines, but you may need to see a GP for treatment.
Kindness and patience towards our team
Our team works hard each day to support patients and balance appointment availability with patient needs. While we can’t always offer same-day appointments for non-urgent issues, we strive to find the best option for you. Winter brings added challenges with increased illness, and we appreciate your patience and kindness, which make a difficult job easier.
We understand it’s frustrating to wait when feeling unwell, but we prioritize the most urgent cases. Please let us know if your condition changes, and thank you for treating our staff with consideration — it’s truly appreciated.
A big thank you from all staff for all the presents we’ve received. Its greatly appreciated!!
Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy Christmas and New Year.
